Listening to her lifelong interest in exercise, Eleanor began a career change in 1988 by returning to school to pursue a Masters Degree in Health and Exercise Studies from Miami University (Ohio). Graduating in 1990, she received her certification from the American College of Sports Medicine as a Health Fitness Instructor in 1991.
In 1995 she began working as a personal trainer, training clients in both the gym and home settings. She was introduced to Pilates in 1999 and completed Initiation 101 Mat Training from the Physical/Mind Institute that year, a Pilates Method workshop with Siri Dharma Galliano in 2000, and the Cadillac Workshop with Jillian Hessel in 2001.
She received full certification as a Pilates Instructor from Body Arts and Science in August 2002. Since then she has attended a variety of continuing education conferences and workshops, including the Anatomy in Clay from Balanced Body University.
