Class Descriptions

Basic Pilates Mat: Beginner levels 1hr Class upstairs (part of mat packages and membership)
This class introduces the fundamentals of the 55 original Pilates mat exercises and ten guiding principles of The Pilates Method. Each client will receive special attention to ensure they learn the proper form and execution of all exercises. This class is perfect for those students who are new to Pilates, or for those looking to "brush up on the basics." It is also appropriate for individuals who are recovering from mild injuries and are looking for a safe way to workout.

Pilates Mat: Int/Advanced Level: 1hr Class upstairs (part of mat packages and membership)
This mixed level Pilates mat class focuses on endurance, strength, precision, and flow of movement. In this small class setting the teacher will present the exercises at multiple levels which allows students to choose level and pace.

Foundation Training: All levels 1hr Class upstairs (part of mat packages and membership)
Developed by Dr. Eric Goodman and created to diminish chronic back pain. Foundation is part training, part therapy using a series of exercise techniques that focus on integrating, firing and stimulating the muscular posterior/back side chain of the body. As you learn to stabilize and integrate, the muscular chains adapt and respond, creating proper movement patterns.  No equipment required.  The FT/foam roller or FT/Pilates are combination classes of said techniques.

Foam Roller: All levels 1hr Class upstairs (part of mat packages and membership)
The MBWS Foam roller class stretches muscles and tendons and breaks down soft tissue adhesions and scar tissue. By using your own body weight and a foam roller, you can perform a self-massage or myofascial release, break up trigger points, and soothe tight fascia while increasing blood flow and circulation to the soft tissues.  Foam rollers are also  used in all facets of a training sessions/classes to enhance strength, stabilization, balance, and coordination.

Metabolic Training: (not included in membership separate fees ask for details. Seasonal subject to change) A mix of body weight exercises, calisthenics, and weight training in intervals designed to get your metabolism burning.

TRXTM Fusion The TRX TM suspension system was developed by a Navy SEAL, it allows your body to be the machine by using your own body weight to develop strength, power, endurance, mobility, durability, balance, flexibility and core stability. Couple this unique apparatus with other equipment you will be sure to leave feeling energized and stronger!


MBWS Pilates Equipment Classes (For All Equipment Classes, client must complete 5 privates and approval prior to entry)

Pilates Wunda Chair:  Int/Advanced Level: (equipment group packages and studio membership)
One of the more difficult machines to master with many of the exercises lifting your entire body weight. This class requires knowledge of the intermediate systems Wunda chair. A challenging class to strengthen and align the body with power, precision and flow.

Pilates Reformer Class:  All Level: (equipment group packages and studio membership)
Using all the Pilates principles and the unique spring tension of the Pilates method, this class focuses on rhythmic, flowing sets of movements, which increase strength, flexibility and stamina while also improving alignment, balance, coordination and tone. The result of the workout is a uniformly developed body with strong back and abdominal muscles. There are countless different movements in the Group Pilates Reformer classes and these are performed seated, standing, on all fours, or lying on your back, side or front.  Other Pilates equipment may be used depending on instructor discretion and number of clients in class.
Reformer Fusion: Uses variety of the entire Pilates method using the whole studio.
Cardio Reformer:  Uses the Pilates Jumpboard in reformer class to increase cardiovascular stamina.
